About  Joolz

I have been making things continually since childhood,  finding  inspiration, not in the shiny new bright things, but in the old and the worn.

I'm a  creature maker, salvage artist, and  creator of many curiosities including handmade artist books, which include my own artwork, photography, and often, some hand stitching.

I love old paper,, textiles, things from times past, painting, collage and  books...

I'm drawn to the discarded, the small things others disregard, and  I make something meaningful , which reveals itself in its own time. .  I follow my own path..

I work from my  tiny home studio on the island of Anglesey off the North Wales coast.

Sustainability, beauty, the lost and the found and  connection to the sacred are central to my approach, which often incorporates repurposed fabrics, packaging and household  textiles.  Items that have been discarded are given a new life through these creations, and all have a story to tell.
